Franklin “Fig” Thomas Simpson, 51, of Arapahoe died Saturday, June 2, 2012, at CarolinaEast Medical Center.
He worked at PCS Phosphate for 34 years and was a shift supervisor. He was also a member of Arapahoe F.W.B. Church and a “Batman” enthusiast.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carlos Simpson.
He is survived by his wife, Liz S. Simpson; his mother, Pearl Simpson Hargett of Arapahoe; his son, Jason T. Simpson and wife, Julie, of Ft. Barnwell; his daughter, Kari S. Snyder of Grantsboro; son-in-law, Josh Snyder of New Bern; three brothers, Kenneth Simpson of Pace, Fla, Danny Simpson of Merrillville, Ind. and Rev. Grady Simpson of Alliance; one sister, Margaret Patterson of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla; and one grandchild, Kayleigh Pearl Snyder.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 5, at Sandhill Cemetery with Dr. Ronnie Aycock and the Rev. David Cauley officiating.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday night at Bryant Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family suggested memorial contributions be made to Kennedy Children’s Home, 2529 Cedar Dell Lane, Kinston, NC 28504.
