Susan Elaine Gaskins, U.S. Navy wife retired, went to be with the Lord on August 27, 2012, at Duke University Medical Center.

Born in Newport News, Va on August 15, 1942, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She attended Stonewall United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Sue Gaskins.

She is survived by her husband of fifty years, William Wallace Gaskins, Jr.; of Stonewall; two sons; David Keith Gaskins and wife, Sherry, of Minnesott Beach and Michael DeWayne Gaskins and wife, Lisa, of Pikeville; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 31, at Bryant Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Penny Dollar Farmer officiating. Interment will follow immediately in Sandhill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday night at Bryant Funeral Home.
