Donald Ray Johnson

On October 11, 2012, Donald “D.J.” Ray Johnson, 58, of Aurora passed away peacefully at his home.

He was a good-hearted, kind man, and a loving father. D.J. loved God. He loved horses and his dogs. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and making others laugh. He will be dearly remembered and greatly missed always.

He is survived by his mother, Lula Cayton of Aurora; one son, Donald “Travis” Johnson of Wilmington; two daughters, Donna “Tenelle” Johnson of Aurora and Adrienne L. Johnson of New Bern; two brothers, James Johnson and Danny Johnson, both of Aurora; and one sister, Dianne Little of New Bern.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 17, at Whitehill Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Wesley Taylor officiating.

A celebration of life will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 20th at the home of his brother Danny, 27 Whitley Rd., Aurora.

In lieu of flowers the family suggested memorial contributions be made to RHA Howell’s River Bend c/o Adrienne L. Johnson, 140 Pirates Rd., New Bern, NC 28562.
