George Magellan Jarvis, Jr.

September 21, 1929 — December 13, 2012

George Magellan Jarvis, Jr.83, of Lowland died Thursday, December 13, 2012, in Beaufort.

He is a member of Wardens Grove Free Will Baptist Church. He is a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Nina Jarvis; his son, George T. Jarvis of Alliance; four daughters, Barbara Jarvis of Alliance, Patty Loftin and Janet Hammond, both of Beaufort and Penny Jarvis of Newport; one sister, Wanda Sapper of Texas; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 15 at Wardens Grove FWB Church Cemetery with the Rev. Earl Sadler Jr., Rev. John Carawan and Rev. John Hill officiating and military honors by Pamlico County VFW Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
