Charlotte Grant Gaskins Powers

Charlotte Grant Gaskins Powers, 87, of Grantsboro and Belhaven died peacefully in her sleep Thursday, January 17, 2013, at Autumn Field Assisted Living in Belhaven.

She was a lifelong member of Rock of Zion Free Will Baptist Church. She was an accomplished artist, was active in the community and church worker.

She is survived by her children, Juanita an Phil Mason of Belhaven, Weddell “Woody” Gaskins, Jr. and Rodney Gaskins, both of Radford, Va.; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. She is sister to Josephine, Francis, John, Carolyn, Amelia, Annie, Marquriute, Wilma, Isabelle, James and Nina.

A graveside service will be held 3 p.m., Sunday, January 20, at Grantsboro cemetery with Rev. Charles Hardison officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. at Rock of Zion FWB Church Fellowship Hall.

In lieu of flowers the family suggested memorial contributions be made to Rock of Zion Church, PO Box 381, Grantsboro, NC 28529.
