Mary Spain Edwards Gatlin

Mary Spain Edwards Gatlin, 97, of Stonewall passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at home.

She was a member of Stonewall United Methodist Church for over 60 years. She was also a former member of the Bayboro Order of Eastern Star where she was a past Worthy Matron. (1961-62)

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Albert M. Edwards and James L. Gatlin and her son, Johnny M. Edwards.

She is survived by her son, Albert E. Edwards and wife, Rita, of Stonewall; her daughter, Mary Edwards Pender of Stonewall; daughter-in-law, Debra Edwards of Stonewall; four grandchildren, Lisa Edwards, Sherry Hardison, Huey D. Pender III and Jessica A. Pender; and four great-grandchildren, Brooke Elks, Coleman Elks, Chase Hardison and Maci Hardison.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 1, at Stonewall United Methodist Church with the Rev. Richard Baldwin officiating. Interment will follow immediately in Greenleaf Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends and relatives one hour prior to the service at the church.
