Nellie "Nell" Ireland Jones

Nellie “Nell” Ireland Jones, 94, of Hobucken died Sunday, February 10, 2013, at CarolinaEast Medical Center.

She was a member of Hobucken United Methodist Church.

She is survived by two sons, David Peterson of Galax, Va. and John Peterson of Raleigh; two daughters, Mary McAllister of Apex and Sandra Jones O’Neal of New Bern; sister, Agnes Mayo of Grantsboro; seven grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 13, at Bryant Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David McAnelly officiating. Interment will follow immediately in Barnett Cemetery, Hobucken.

The family will receive friends and relatives one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family suggested memorial contributions be made to Goose Creek Island Fire Department c/o Cathy Lupton, 5906 Lowland Rd., Lowland, NC 28552.
