Stella Willis Burroughs

Stella Willis Burroughs, 80, of Grantsboro died Monday, February 18, 2013, at her home.

She took great pride in her family and in being called “Mom”. Children adored her and she was an excellent seamstress, an avid UNC fan, and enjoyed genealogy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Luther Burroughs.

She is survived by two daughters, Delores B. Townsend of Grantsboro and Johnette B. Jones of Reelsboro; three grandchildren, Jonathon Brinson, Lori Altman and Nathaniel Jones; and seven great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 20, at New Bethlehem Original Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Jesse Crisp, the Rev. Graham Lane and the Rev. Grady Burroughs officiating. Interment will follow immediately in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday evening at Bryant Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to New Bethlehem OFWB Church Children’s Ministry, c/o Scotty Whitford, 1903 Scott Store Rd., Grantsboro, NC 28529.
