Vance Burton Brinson, Sr., 89, of Grantsboro passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at CarolinaEast Medical Center.
He was a member of Rock of Zion Original Free Will Baptist Church, Grantsboro-Silverhill Fire Department, and Bayboro Masonic Lodge #331.
He is survived by two sons, Vance Burton Brinson, Jr. of Salisbury and Doyle Brinson of Southport; daughter, Joan Dressler of Greensboro; brother, Samuel Brinson of Savannah, Ga.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services with Masonic Rites will be held 11:30 a.m., Saturday, April 27 at Grantsboro Cemetery.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 10 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Bryant Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Free Will Baptist Children’s Home, PO Box 249, Middlesex, NC 27557.
