J.D. Arthur, 73, of New Bern passed away Thursday, May 2, 2013, at home.

He was a member of Saint’s Delight Free Will Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Arthur; two sons, Tom Arthur and wife, Debbie, of Vanceboro and Donald Arthur of New Bern; two daughters, Gladys Ipock and husband, Andy, of New Bern and Jo Carol Arthur of Wilmington; one brother, Linn Arthur of West Virginia; one sister, Daisy Sutton of Askin; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 4, at Bridgeton Cemetery with the Rev. J.R. Clark officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family suggested memorial contributions be made to one’s favorite charity.
