Kenneth Jackson Jones

Kenneth Jackson Jones, 62, of New Bern died Sunday, August 18, 2013 at UNC Hospital.

He attended Harvest Temple Church of God in Vanceboro. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of V.V.A.

He is survived by his wife, Shireen Lee Jones; daughter, Lisa Jones Wiltse of New Bern; step-son, Johnnie Cowell, Jr. of Grantsboro; four step-daughters, Barbara C. Swindell of New Bern, Christie Rice of New Bern, Phyllis Barnett of Bridgeton and Kimberly Rupert of Reelsboro; two brothers, Thad Jones, Jr. of Vanceboro and Jesse Jones of Greenville; sister, Libby Whaley of Bridgeton; two grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 21 at Bryant Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Debra McPeak officiating. Interment will follow immediately in Bridgeton Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday night at Bryant Funeral Home and at other times at the home, 62 Blackhorse Run, New Bern.

In lieu of flowers the family suggested memorial contributions be made to Harvest Temple Church of God, PO Box 235, Vanceboro, NC 28586.
