Robert "Bob" Richard Dales

Robert “Bob” Richard Dales, 76, of Oriental passed away Sunday, September 29, 2013, at home.

He was a foreman of Fritz Lab and ATLSS Lab over a period of 40 years at Lehigh University. He was a life member of Delhigh Power Squadron in Pennsylvania, a member of Sailing Club of Oriental(SCOO), and the Oriental Dinghy Club(ODC) of which he was Commodore in 2008, Bob was a volunteer fireman with Southeast Pamlico Volunteer Fire Dept. #19 and was named Fireman of the Year both in 2002 and 2013. He was also a recipient of the prestigious Bill Mason award from the Oriental Rotary Club in 2013.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Jean Pines Dales and his brother, Mark Dales.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marge Dales; his sister-in-law, Carolyn Dales of Southampton, Pa.; nephews: Mark Dales Jr. and David Dales; and nieces: Diane Mattson and Debi Hester.

In celebration of Bob’s life, a memorial dinner will be held at 5:00 p.m., Sunday, October 6th at Southeast Pamlico Fire Dept. #19, Straight Rd. Oriental, .
