Col. Gordon H. Keller, Jr., USMC, Retired, 89, of Minnesott Beach died Wednesday, December 4, 2013, at home.

After retiring from the U.S. Marine Corps with twenty-eight years of service as an aviator, he founded Indian Trace Company and then became owner and operator of Keller Construction. He was one of the first developers of Minnesott Beach.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Keller.

He is survived by his daughter, Susan Keller of Minnesott Beach and her children, Scott Taylor (children, Chance & Charley) Erik Taylor (children, Joshua & Abby), Summer Keller and Gerry Keller; his son, Robert S. Keller and wife, Stacy of Oriental and their children, Kevin Peacock, Angie Toler (child, Jacob), Robert Keller, Jr. (children, Anthony & Sean), Michelle Jones (child – Ryder) Alex Keller and Danielle Krob (children, Donovan & T.J.); three brothers, Carroll R. Keller of Birmingham, Ala, Franklin M. Keller of Oriental, and Walter S. Keller of Huntsville, Ala.

His memorial service with military honors will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 7th at Arapahoe United Methodist Church with the Rev. Penny Dollar Farmer officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family suggested memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Pamlico, 11146 NC Hwy 55, Grantsboro, NC 28529 or the Wounded Warrior Project, 4200 Morganton Rd. Suite 300, Fayetteville, NC 28314.
