Doris Grey Swindell

Doris Grey Swindell, 85, of Alligator Creek Rd. Stonewall, died Thursday, December 5, 2013, at home.

She was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church and was the original owner and operator of Swindell’s Florist.

She is survived by five sons, Radford Swindell of Stonewall, Wallace Swindell of Washington, Cecil Swindell of Garner, Jimmy Swindell of the home and C.J. Swindell of the home; four daughters, Barbara Jordan of North Wilkesboro, Pat Dickerson of New Bern, Doris Dunn of the home and Erica Swindell of Trent; 15 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 7 at Sandhill Cemetery with Dr. David Salmons and Chaplain Jim Marshburn officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday night at Bryant Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family suggested memorial contributions be made to Community Home Care & Hospice, 1423 A. South Glenburnie Rd., New Bern, NC 28562.
