Mertie Lee Bonner

Mertie Lee Bonner, 72, of Small passed away Sunday, December 8, 2013, at CarolinaEast Medical Center.

She was a member of White Hill Free Will Baptist Church. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and Memaw.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Jessie Lee and her brother, Billy Lee.

She is survived by her husband, Bryan T. Bonner, Sr. of Small; one son, Bryan T. Bonner, Jr. and wife, Jenny, of Washington; two daughters, Jessie Lewis and husband, Ed, of Aurora and Sharon Tripp and husband, Jay, of Blount’s Creek; three brothers, Gene Lee and wife, Corrine, of New Bern, Ray Lee and wife, Kathy, of Minnesott Beach, and Steve Lee of Grantsboro; two sisters, Ruby Holton and husband, Lee, of Arapahoe and Pat Robinson and husband, Buddy, of Florida; six grandchildren, Josh Edwards, Dylan Tripp, Dahlton O’Neal, Jarrett O’Neal, Trippe Bonner, and Adam Bonner; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at White Hill Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Wesley Taylor officiating. Interment will follow immediately in Dixon Cemetery at White Hill Free Will Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday night at Bryant Funeral Home and at other times at the home, 9484 Hwy 306 S., Aurora.

In lieu of flowers the family suggested memorial contributions be made to Aurora Rescue Squad, PO Box 277, Aurora, NC 27806.
