Elsie Mclawhorn Alexander

May 15, 1920 — February 3, 2014

Elsie McLawhorn Alexander, 93, of Stonewall passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Monday, February 3, 2014.

She was a member of Stonewall United Methodist Church and the Ina Gaskins Circle.

She is survived by her husband of 75 years, Harold Alexander; son, Charles (Lois) Alexander; daughters, Barbara (Lester) Carey and Ann (Charles) Holton; grandchildren, Donna Holton (Charles, deceased) Rice, Chuck (Joanna) Holton, Sheryl Holton (Gene) Galin, Karen Alexander (Chip Dombrowsky), Shannon Alexander (Brian) Ellenberg, Stephen (Penny) Carey, Douglas (Amanda) Carey and Amy Carey (Steven) Smith; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Jessica Rice, Zackary, Isabella, and Cecilia Holton, Michael, Alexandria, and Nicholas Galin, Stephanie Carey (Ryan) Hardison, Roy (Hope Lilly, friend) Carey, Donna Connell (Michael) Gordon, Stephen Carey, Jr., Carey, Aiden and Bailey Smith, Savannah, Beau, deceased, and Tyler Ellenberg and Hunter Dombrowsky; great-great grandchildren, Reid Carey and Abigail Hardison; and special family children, Steven, David and Jaclyn Lilly.

Her funeral will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 5 at Bryant Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Gainey and the Rev. Richard Baldwin officiating. Interment will follow immediately in Greenleaf Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
