John Louis Kyak

Oriental will be missing one of their local residents John L. Kyak, 78, whom on Wednesday February 19th lost his battle with cancer.

John has been a resident of Oriental for the past 13 years. He and his wife Marcia who passed away in 2007, moved to Oriental from N.Y. The two quickly came to fall in love with the charm of their new quaint little town and its residents, which they grew to love more and more each day and then called home. John enjoyed frequenting the local eateries and the town’s local events, which Oriental is well known for. He was also a regular at Orientals "Tiki Bar" which he would enjoy with a small group of close friends and his best friend Bill, all of which he loved spending time with.

John is survived by his sons Jay and Jim Kyak, Chris Lagrotteria, daughters Lee Record, Janit Pike and Pam Kyak as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at the Oriental Cemetery on Saturday March 1st at 1:00 pm.

Friends are asked to join his family and celebrate his life and time in Oriental.
