Phillip Moye Prescott, Sr.

Phillip Moye Prescott Sr., 79, of Grantsboro passed away Saturday, March 15, 2014 at home.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah Prescott.

He was a lifelong member of Rock of Zion Free Will Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army & U.S. Air Force Reserves. He retired from PCS Phosphate after 35 years of service and also was a farmer.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Potter Prescott; two sons, Phillip Prescott Jr. and wife, Allyson, of New Bern and Mark Prescott and wife, Sandi, of Grantsboro; one daughter, Martha P. Gaskill and husband, Dennis, of Bayboro; three step-children, Tim Potter of New Bern, Lee Potter of Greenville and Debra Liehs-Powell of New Bern; and 17 grandchildren.

His funeral will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 18 at Bryant Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Stephen Prescott officiating. Interment will be in Sandhill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family suggested memorial contributions be made to University of Mount Olive, 634 Henderson St., Mt. Olive, NC 28365.
