Robert Lee Powers

Mr. Powers passed away on Saturday,March 15, 2014, at Grantsbrook Nursing & Rehab Center.

He was born on January 25, 1935 to Colia and Pauline Halsey Powers in Bayboro.  He was a U.S. Army CW2, having served his country in Vietnam.  He was a dedicated soldier for 20+ years.  During his time in the Army he met the love of his life at Ft. Polk and togethter they were married for 58 years.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend.  He also loved to fish and spend all his time with his wife.

He was preceded in death by his son, Steven Powers and his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Powers of Grantsboro; sisters, Selma Rowe of Bayboro and Susan Allenbaugh of Jonesboro, GA; brother, Jimmie Powers of Chesapeak, VA; and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Graveside services for CW2 (RET) Robert "Bob" Lee Powers will be held on Friday, March 21st at 5:00 p.m. in the Self Cemetery in Hornbeck, La with full military honors.

Visitation will be Thursday, at 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jeane's Funeral Service in Leesville, La.
