John Firmin Nelson, Jr.

John F. Nelson of New Bern passed away in his home on Thursday, May 29, 2014. He was 94 years old.

John was born August 18, 1919 in Charleroi, Pennsylvania. He served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. He received a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and was employed by Old Dominion until his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Dorothy, and his son, Jack.

Friends and family will remember John for his sharp memory, humorous stories and quick wit.
