Robert Austin Paul, 83, of Grantsboro passed away Thursday, June 12, 2014, at CarolinaEast Medical Center.
He was a member of Silver Hill Christian Church where he served as an elder. He formerly served as a Pamlico County Commissioner, a member of P.C. Rescue Squad, and a Grantsboro Town Commissioner. He was a lifelong farmer and co-owned and operated Paul Farms in Grantsboro. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth Adam Paul.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sadie Paul; daughter, Evelyn Paul of Grantsboro; son, Clifton Paul and wife, Wynne, of Grantsboro; brother, Hoyt Paul and wife, Pat, of Grantsboro; grandchildren, Cody Paul and wife, Jo Lynn, and Taylor Paul of Alliance.
His funeral will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 16, at Silver Hill Christian Church with the Rev. Rex Horne officiating. Interment will be in Paul Cemetery, Silver Hill.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, June 15 at Bryant Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family suggested memorial contributions be made to Silver Hill Christian Church or Paul Cemetery, 1903 Hwy 306 N., Grantsboro, NC 28529.
