Helen Brinson Boyd

Helen Brinson Boyd, 92, of Arapahoe passed away peacefully Thursday, June 19, 2014.

She was a member of Arapahoe United Methodist Church where she was the pianist for many years. She was also a charter member of Order of Eastern Star where she served as Past Worthy Matron. She retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a postmaster.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Boyd and two sons, Bobby Boyd and Jacky Boyd.

She is survived by one son, Tommy Boyd and wife, Betty, of Arapahoe; one daughter, Mary Helen “Duck” Whorton and husband, Larry, of Arapahoe; three grandchildren, Woody Boyd (Robin) of Seaford, DE, Kim Whorton Tripp (Jayme) of Raleigh, and Randall Whorton (Lilly) of Raleigh; and six great-granddaughters, Marina & Cassidy Boyd, Jenna & Brooke Tripp, and Lindsey & Lucy Whorton.

Her graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 22nd at Greenleaf Memorial Park Lakeside Chapel with the Rev. Penny Dollar Farmer officiating.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the cemetery.
