Henry Pascal Woodard

The Rev. Henry Pascal "H.P." Woodard, 89, of Reelsboro, passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Grantsbrook Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

After graduating from Alliance School, he served in the United States Coast Guard for two years during World War II. He later attended East Carolina University. He retired from MCAS Cherry Point Naval Supply Department with 28 years of service. His most rewarding job, for which he is best known, is that of a Pentecostal Holiness Minister. He was a Pastor for 38 years at several churches including Sneads Ferry, Swansboro, Calvary, Goose Creek, Oriental, Friendship and, at his home church, Reelsboro Pentecostal Holiness Church.

He is predeceased by his son, Floyd Eugene "Gene" Woodard.

He is survived by his wife of 66 1/2 years, Alice Ann Dixon Woodard; one brother, Thomas (Glenn) of Angier, NC; one daughter, Angie Bell (Albert) of Pollocksville; and one son, Alan Woodard (Paula) of Reelsboro; eight grandchildren, Martin Woodard, Matthew Woodard, Robbie Sawyer (Rodney), Michelle Sheaffer (Matt), Jessica Harper (Gerald), Kelsey Bell, Ashlynne Peters (Jonathan), and Jordan Woodard (Melissa); nine precious great-grandchildren, Wilson Sawyer, Alison Sawyer, Jamison Sheaffer, Jackson Sheaffer, Johnson Sheaffer, Micah Dietz, Nathan Harper, Emma Peters and Evan Peters; and a beloved nephew, Nat Martin, and his wife, Brenda.

Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, August 9, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Reelsboro Pentecostal Holiness Church and at other times at the Woodard residence.

The funeral service will be Sunday, August 10th at 3 p.m., at Reelsboro Pentecostal Holiness Church, with Rev. Steve Willis officiating. Burial will follow at Sandhill Cemetery in Reelsboro, weather permitting.

In lieu of flowers , donations may be made to the Reelsboro Pentecostal Holiness Church, c/o Mrs. Jean Buck, 2017 South Goose Creek Road, Grantsboro, NC 28529.
