Donna Margaret Schmidt Bridges died peacefully on Thursday October 2nd, at the family home surrounded by her family and close friends after a long battle with cancer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Olene and Vincent Schmidt, her daughter, Melissa Bridges, a brother, Patrick Schmidt and her nephew Brian Schmidt.

Surviving are her husband of thirty-seven years Lewis Bridges, her son Nicholas Bridges and wife Lisa of Grantsboro. Her loving grandchildren Lexi, Carter and Colby Bridges. Sister, Kathy Pfannenstiel and husband George, brother Michael Schmidt and wife Elsa, brothers John Schmidt and David Schmidt, all of Grantsboro. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.

She was a former Pamlico County Commissioner and School Board member. She was also a member of the Pamlico County Booster Club and the Arapahoe Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.

The memorial services will be held at 4pm Saturday October 4th at the Bryant Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Michael Roach officiating.

Visitation will be held at Bryant Funeral Home before the service from 2-4pm.
