Luella Cayton Bennett Brinson

April 24, 1927 — October 3, 2014

Luella Cayton Bennett Brinson, 87, of Minnesott Beach passed away Friday, October 3, 2014, at The Gardens of Pamlico.

She was a member of Arapahoe FWB Church and also attended Amity Christian Church. Mrs. Luella served dutifully for 24 years as the wife of Pamlico County Sheriff, Leland Brinson and together they served as charter members of Pamlico County Rescue Squad. She also served on the board of directors at Pamlico Community College, delivered Meals on Wheels, and ran Luella’s Beauty Shop for 30 years.

Luella took great pride in being a wonderful mother, grandmama/Mema, and great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Marvin Bennett and Leland Brinson; her son, Keith Bennett; her brother, Lathel Ward Cayton; and special sister, Lessie Hayes.

She is survived by her daughter, Kay Bennett & husband, David Tyndall, of Arapahoe; two grandchildren, Tracy Bennett and Kacy Forbes & husband, Jeremy; one great-grandchild, Kayton Forbes; and daughter-in-law, Gloria Tyndall & husband, Glen.

Her funeral will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 6, 2014 at Bryant Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow immediately in Greenleaf Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
