George Pollard Willis

George Pollard Willis, 82, of Bairds Creek passed away Thursday, November 20, 2014, at home.

He was a lifelong farmer and resident of Pamlico County in the Bairds Creek area. He was a member of Amity Christian Church where he served as a deacon, superintendent and the board of trustees.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Seth Austin Willis and Eva Pipkin Willis, two brothers, Seth Austin Willis and Lionel E. Willis, and four sisters, Lois Blackwell, Elsie Keel, Sara Alice Munns, and Kathleen Koelliker.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ramona I. Willis; and 18 nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 23rd at Amity Christian Church with the Rev. Lynn Maxwell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends anytime at the home.
