Sallie Dixon Bennett

Sallie Frances Dixon Bennett, 81, of Grantsboro passed away Monday, January 5, 2015, at home.

She was a member of Rock of Zion Free Will Baptist Church, NC Association of Educators, National Education Association-Retired, N.C. Retired School Personnel, and Life Member of Ladies Auxiliary Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8094. She was a graduate of East Carolina University and volunteered at Grantsbrook Nursing and The Gardens of Pamlico.

She is survived by her two sons, Horace C. Bennett, Jr., of Clayton and Billy R. Bennett of Raleigh; four grandchildren, Amy Bennett Hurst, Kyle Bennett, Diana Bennett, and Daniel Bennett; and one great-grandchild, Danika Hurst.

Her memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m., Friday, January 9th at Bryant Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ray Lewis officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family suggested memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Pamlico, 11146 NC Hwy 55, Grantsboro, NC 28529.
