Barry Allen Beauchamp

Barry Allen Beauchamp, 73, of Oriental passed away Thursday, February 5, 2015, at Crystal Coast Hospice House in Newport.

He was a member and first responder of Station #25 Florence/Whortonsville V.F.D. and former member, Chief, and first responder of Station #19 Southeast Pamlico V.F.D. He served in the U.S. Army and retired from the Federal Government as an accountant. He was an EMS instructor at Pamlico Community College, was instrumental in starting the First Responder Program in Pamlico County and formerly served as assistant Pamlico County Fire Marshal.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Gayle Beauchamp; his brother, Donald R. Beauchamp Jr. of Boonesboro, Maryland; brother-in-law, W. Craig Thompson and wife, Nancy, of Ashburn, Va.; two nieces, Nikki Thompson and Melissa Pilant and husband, Jonah; nephew, Eric Beauchamp; and great-nephew, Mason Pilant.

His memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family suggested memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Pamlico, 11146 NC Hwy 55, Grantsboro, NC 28529.
