Carol Kennedy Erwin, 66, of Oriental passed away Sunday, February 15, 2015, at home.
Carol’s life was robust and full of Love. We appreciate all the love and support our family and friends gave us over the last year. She knew she was loved…..just as much as you knew you were loved by her. Cancer took her, but her spirit won. That was her gift to all of us. She worried more about us, her family and friends, than she did about herself during this ordeal.
A dear friend, Tim Dallas, we lost this past year, said, “People often get too busy living life and forget to take time to live.” Carol was always ready for an "adventure" and embodied living life to the fullest: traveling extensively, living in Europe, living on a sail boat for 8 years, cruising the Caribbean, and finally pottery. All little girls want to play in the mud, and she became an accomplished potter in the last years. Carol truly possessed a Happy Spirit and will be missed.
She is survived by her husband of 28 years, R. Ashely Erwin; son, Kenneth Hyatt Bradshaw; daughter, Heather Lynn Turnage; step-son, W. Scott Erwin; sister, Patricia Irene Davis; six grandchildren, William Albert Glass, Emily Lynn Grace Glass, Kaitlynn Bradshaw, Juliann Bradshaw, Chase Erwin and Hope Erwin; and great-granddaughter, Sophia.
A private memorial service for Carol will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family suggested memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Pamlico, 11146 NC Hwy 55 E., Grantsboro, NC 28529.
