Susan Marie Keller, 65, of Minnesott Beach passed away Sunday, April 12, 2015, at CarolinaEast Medical Center.
Susan was born August 18, 1949 as the daughter of Col. Gordon and Peggy Keller and was the big sister to Robert Keller. She spent her early years as a proud military brat living in various places. She was known in the community through her work with Keller Construction, Hollowell & Hollowell and First Citizens Bank. Her years of work were only a small part of the woman that Susan was.
Susan's dream as a little girl was to become a mother which came true four times over to three boys and one girl. She proudly let everyone know just through her license plate. The love that she had in her heart led to the births of Scott, Erik, Summer and Gerry. For each of us she became our first best friend, our mom, our everything.
Despite the challenges she faced over the years, she was able to raise 4 kids as a single parent and did it amazingly well. From having a home cooked meal every night, to being there through all of our success, to being a shoulder to lean on when we failed. She was the best mother we could have asked for as her love for us never faltered. We now move on knowing how to be a parent, a friend and one who loves with all their heart.
On the night of Sunday April 12, 2015, our mom was reunited with her parents and her spirit will live on through her children, brother and grandchildren, Chance, Joshua, Charley and Abby. We love you.
Her memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 16th at Arapahoe United Methodist Church with the Rev. Penny Dollar Farmer officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family suggested memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Pamlico, 11146 NC Hwy 55, Grantsboro, NC 28529, Pamlico Rescue, PO Box 302, Bayboro, NC 28515 or Wounded Warrior Project, 4200 Morganton Rd. Suite 300, Fayetteville, NC 28314.
