Russell Willis Pegram

Russell Willis Pegram, 87, of Maribel passed away Saturday, May 16, 2015.

He was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy for 55 years in Maribel. He was one of the first to volunteer with the Pamlico County Rescue Squad and did so for 10 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph & Mary Ellen Pegram; and brothers and sisters, Gene, Joseph, William, Edith, Ema Gray, Mary Etta, Ruth and Blanch.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 61 years, Lillie Mae Pegram; son, Russell Willis Pegram Jr. of Ashville; daughter, Sheila Darlene Pegram of James City; brother, Elmo Pegram and wife, Nancy, of Arapahoe; two grandchildren, Mary Anne Pegram and David Lee Pegram and wife, Julie; seven great-grandchildren, Kristin, Amber, Lexxie, Guy, Halle, Ryan and Melissa; and two great-great-grandchildren, Madison and Emma.

His funeral will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 20th at Bryant Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Keith Russell, Rev. Mickey Johnson and Rev. Aubrey Spear officiating. Interment will be in Celestial Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
