Glen Roy Wayne, 73, of Olympia, passed away Tuesday, July 21, at Carolina EastMedical Center surrounded by his family.
Born in New Britain, Connecticut on May 8, 1942, Glen’s family moved to New Bern when he was two years old. Shortly after graduating from New Bern High School, Glen met his wife Dorothy Marie Joyner; they married in 1965.
Glen & Dot were blessed with three children, Alan Wayne & wife, Kelly of Raleigh, David Wayne & wife, Christine, and Michelle Rich & husband, Charles, all of Olympia. They were also blessed with six grandchildren: Kelsey, Matt, Ryan, Amanda, Adam, and Michael.
Glen retired from PCS Phosphate after 25 years in 2002. He enjoyed flying remote control airplanes and playing video games but there was nothing he enjoyed more than spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Montague; mother, Rena; and brother, Don.
His funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 25th at Bryant Funeral Home. Interment will follow immediately in Hollywood Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggested memorial contributions be made to Hollywood Cemetery c/o April Holton, 60 Bayleaf Road, New Bern, NC 28560.
