Mildred Ann Phillips

Mildred Sawyer Phillips, 85, of Dover passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2015, at home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Myrtie Hunnings Sawyer; her husband, Frank Harper Phillips Jr.; son, Jimmy Phillips; two daughters, Judy Owens and Deborah Phillips; and brother, Frankie Sawyer.

She is survived by two sons, James “Eddie” Phillips of Dover and Dennis Phillips of Kinston; three daughters, Libby White and Belva Phillips, both of Dover and Marie Overby of Cove City; brother, Bryan Sawyer; sisters, Lydia Connett and Marguerite Sawyer; many grand, great-grand and great-great grandchildren as well as step-grandchildren.

Her memorial service will be held 7:30 p.m., Friday, August 7, 2015 at Bryant Funeral Home Chapel.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family suggested memorial contributions be made to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Grantsboro-Silver Hill Volunteer Fire Dept.
