Gloria Elizabeth Rice Lupton

Gloria Rice Lupton, 75, of Arapahoe, cherished wife, mother, “Ma” and friend to all she knew, joined her heavenly family in front of the Father’s throne on Monday, November 23, 2015. She was born June 22, 1940, to Carlton and Doris Belangia Rice.

She was a fervent member of Arapahoe Free Will Baptist Church where she served as a pianist, beginning in her teens, for most of her life, and an active member of the Women’s Fellowship. She found joy in being with her family, and spending time with her “Curves Girls”, frequently.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Carla Lupton Cowell, son-in-law, Mark R. Cowell; and great-granddaughter, Hannah-Blake Jones.

She is survived by her husband, George Alfred Lupton Jr.; one daughter, Deborah Lupton Lee and husband, Timothy A. Lee, of Arapahoe; one son, George Alfred Lupton III and wife, Kristin A. Lupton, of Marietta, GA; three brothers-in-law, William Coughlin of Boston, MA, Robert F. Cane of New Bern, and Johnny R. Lupton and wife, Margaret, of Wilmington, NC; six grandchildren, Sabrina Lee, Jaclyn (Bryan) Jones, Katlyn Cowell, Kayla Damron, Noah and AnaBarron Lupton; and four great-grandsons, Jaden Lee and Hudson Holton, and Britton and Beckham Jones.

The family will receive friends and relatives at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 27th at Arapahoe Free Will Baptist Church.

The funeral will follow at 11 a.m., with the Rev. David Cauley officiating. Interment will follow immediately in Greenleaf Memorial Park.
