Jerry Mitchell

Lt. Jerry Mitchell, U.S. Navy (Ret), 66, of Florida passed away Monday, December 7, 2015, in Daytona, Florida.

He retired after 28 years of service in the U.S. Navy.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Pierce Mitchell.

He is survived by his father, Michael Richard Mitchell of Havelock; sons, Jerry Matthew Mitchell and Jonathan Reid Mitchell, both of Grantsboro and Ryan M. Mitchell of New Castle, PA; daughter, Erica J. Knoop of Conover, Ohio; brothers, Michael Thomas “Tommy” Mitchell of Alliance, James “Jimmy” Mitchell of Jacksonville, Fla. and Chris and David Mitchell, both of Livingston, Texas; sister, Barbara Stancil of Emerald Isle; and five grandchildren.

His memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, December 19th at Bryant Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Penny Dollar Farmer officiating. Inurnment will be in Alliance United Methodist Church Cemetery with military honors.
