Richard Harold Laughinghouse

Richard Harold Laughinghouse, 77, of Reelsboro, passed away Sunday, December 20, 2015, at Crystal Coast Hospice House.

He attended Saint’s Delight Free Will Baptist Church, was a member of Newport Moose Lodge No. 2194 for over 50 years, a member of the VFW and the American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph Jason and Lula Bell Laughinghouse; his wife, Mary Moody Laughinghouse; children, Tammy Kay Laughinghouse and Daniel Jason Laughinghouse; and brothers, Carlos, Lester, Edward, Robert Earl, William “Billy” Jason, and Rudolph Thomas Laughinghouse.

He is survived by his son, Richard Laughinghouse and wife, Judith, of Alexandria, Nebraska; siblings, Peggy Anderson of Ernul, Betty Littlewood of New Bern, Donald Laughinghouse of Aiken, SC, Ethel Ann Gillikin, Nancy Hack, and Judy Laughinghouse, all of New Bern, Joe Laughinghouse of Thomaston, Georgia and Johnny Laughinghouse of Rocky Mount, NC; six grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; special friend, Ruby Gottschalk; and numerous nieces and nephews.

His graveside service with military honors will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 23rd at Greenleaf Memorial Park Lakeside Chapel.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Bryant Funeral Home.
