Sara Tripp Sawyer Gaskins

Sara Tripp Sawyer Gaskins, 78, of Grantsboro passed away peacefully, Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Grantsbrook Nursing and Rehab Center.

She was a member of New Bethlehem FWB Church and the Women’s Auxiliary, she sold Avon for 40 years, was a care giver, a member of the American Legion in New Bern, Chaplain and Vice President of the WPO Club and member of the Aurora Chapter of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by two sons, Frank Sawyer, III (Diana) of Grantsboro, Ronald Sawyer (Anita) of New Bern; one daughter, Deborah Jost (Lee) of New Bern; stepdaughter, Mary Waters (Charles) of New Bern; two grandchildren, Crystal Ludvigson (Daniel), Jessica Foster (James); two great grandchildren, Nathan Ludvigson and Kimberly Raford and two step-grandchildren, Sherry Hodges and Charles Waters, Jr.

Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 2, 2016 at New Bethlehem FWB Church with the Rev. Mike Roach, Rev. Ashley Trogdon and Rev. Jesse Crisp officiating. Interment will follow at the Oriental Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Friday evening April 1, at Bryant Funeral Home.
