Charles J. Stewart

Charles J. Stewart, 93, of New Bern passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at Croatan Assisted Living.

He was a member of Village Presbyterian Church, Grantham Lodge No. 725 and New Bern York Rite Bodies. He was owner/operator of Neuse Forest Upholstery Co.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Stewart and three sisters, Christine Beasley, Shirley Richardson and Jewel Allen.

He is survived by his sons, Charles Roderick Stewart and Billy Stewart, both of New Bern and Corby Stewart of Fayetteville; daughters, Gloria Walker of New Bern and Bonnie Adams of Newport; sister, Dorothy “Dot” Crumpler of Atlanta, Ga.; eight grandchildren; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.

His funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m., Monday, April 25th at Village Chapel Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Norm Evans officiating. Interment will follow immediately in Greenleaf Memorial Park with Masonic Rites by Grantham Lodge No. 725.

The family will receive friends and relatives prior to the service from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m. Monday at the church.
