Edwin Ozell Cahoon, 87, of Grantsboro passed away Thursday, June 9, 2016, at home.
He was a member of Silverhill Christian Church. He was also a charter member and volunteer for over 27 years with both Pamlico County Rescue and Grantsboro-Silverhill V.F.D. He owned and operated Cahoon’s Bulldozer Service.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Holton Cahoon.
He is survived by two sons, Dennis & Ashley Cahoon, both of Grantsboro; daughter, Clara Cahoon of Grantsboro; sister, Alene Fornes of Mobile, Ala.; brother, Jennings Cahoon of Grantsboro; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
His funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m., Sunday, June 12th at Bryant Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rex Horne and the Rev. Charles Hardison officiating. Interment will follow immediately in Cahoon-Dixon Cemetery, Grantsboro.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family suggested memorial contributions be made to Pamlico Rescue, PO Box 302, Bayboro, NC 28515 or Grantsboro-Silverhill V.F.D., PO Box 5, Grantsboro, NC 28529.
