Helen Muse Hudgins

Helen Muse Hudgins, 93, of Alliance passed away Monday, August 15, 2016, at Grantsbrook Nursing & Rehab Center.

She was born November 9, 1922 to Clinton & Ethel Muse. Helen was a very active life-long member of Pamlico United Methodist Church and that community. Due to declining health she moved to Alliance with her daughter 8 years ago where she enjoyed visits from her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Clinton Muse Jr.; sister, Louise Muse; and husband, Talmadge O. Hudgins, Sr.

She is survived by her son, Talmadge O. “Oz” Hudgins, Jr. and wife, Judy; daughter, Julia H. Spencer and husband, Jimmy; brother, Carlton M. Muse; four grandchildren, Cathie H. Hopkins, Talmadge “Tal” O. Hudgins, III, Helen Rose Whealton and Scott Spencer; nine great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Her memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, August 20th at Pamlico United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mike Roach and the Rev. Penny Dollar Farmer officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers the family suggested memorial contributions be made to Pamlico United Methodist Church, c/o Tillie Roberts, 9985 NC Hwy 306 S, Arapahoe, NC 28510.
