Elga Dixon Anderton

Elga Dixon Anderton, 89, of Alliance passed away Friday, August 19, 2016, at The Gardens of Pamlico.

She was a member of Rock of Zion Free Will Baptist Church, life and charter auxiliary member of VFW Post 8094, and a member of the Garden Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Anderton, Jr. and her sisters, Verdie Lynch and Vernie Block.

She is survived by her son, George “Tommy” Anderton III and wife, Dorothy, of Cross Junction, Va.; her daughter, Elaine A. Taiariol and husband, Danny, of Warren, Michigan; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Her memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 3rd at Rock of Zion OFWB Church with the Rev. Ray Lewis officiating.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the house at 1720 Old Bay River Rd. from 2 to 7pm.

In lieu of flowers the family suggested memorial contributions be made to Pamlico Rescue, PO Box 302, Bayboro, NC 28515.
