Sina Leary Sawyer

Sina Mercer Sawyer, 85, of Aurora went home to be with her Lord, Monday, November 14, 2016.

Sina worked as a beautician but her true life’s work was ministering the word of the Lord. She had a great love for music and was a member of “The Sounds of Praise”, a Christian praise and worship band.

Sina was preceded in death by her husbands, Norwood Mercer and Waldon “Earl” Sawyer.

She is survived by her son, Marion Mercer and wife, Sherry, of Aurora; sister, Wayne Rae Potter of Vanceboro; and two grandchildren, Christopher Bethel and Joshua Pitts.

Her funeral will be held 11 a.m., Friday, November 18th at Bryant Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Owen Lupton Sr. officiating. Interment will follow immediately in Mercer Family Cemetery, Lowland.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday evening at Bryant Funeral Home.
