Kerry C. Ensley, 70, of New Bern, passed away, Thursday, December 1, 2016, at his home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Kerry was born July 14, 1946, in New Bern to Duval and Mary Ensley. He graduated from Pamlico High School in 1964. On July 31, 1965, he married his high school sweetheart, Georgia French, and enjoyed a loving marriage for 51 years.
Kerry was well known by his community for his dedicated service as a police officer for 15 years, but his dedication to others didn’t stop there. Mr. Ensley always gathered those who were lost and in need, guiding and helping them in a way that touched them forever.
He was an amazing father to twin daughters, Kerrie Ensley, and Teresa Ensley Alger; a son, Rusty Ensley; and his beloved pet, Buckshot.
He is survived by his wife, children and six grandchildren, Alec Jones, Chasen Lee, Jarett Alger, Halie Lester, Dustin Lester, and Julia Ensley.
His celebration of life service will be held from 1 to 3 p.m., on Saturday, December 3rd at Cove City Missionary Baptist Church, 110 N Main St. Cove City, NC.
In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to be given to “Go Fund Me” Kerry C. Ensley Memorial Fund.
