Dora Simpson Brady, 82, of Pamlico, died December 2, 2016, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Dora was born on July 4, 1934 to William and Rosetta Simpson. She grew up in the town of Silver Hill, the youngest of nine children. In January 1956, she married Paul Brady and enjoyed a loving marriage for 60 years.
Throughout her life, she steadily grew in her faith and service to her Lord Jesus Christ. It is with heartfelt gratitude that we thank Him for the gift of her hands that touched and held us, sewed and mended our clothes, smocked our dresses, quilted our covers, planted our gardens, and fed us. We thank Him for the gift of her heart and mind that provided boundless love, patience, dedication, determination, and perseverance. She taught us through example what it is to be a Godly woman. We are so fortunate to have had her as a wife, mom, granny, aunt and dear friend for so many years. We know that she has always been in His tender, loving care and take comfort in knowing that she rests eternally in His loving arms.
Dora is preceded in death by her parents and eight siblings. She is survived by her husband, Paul, and three children, Paula Phillips, Timothy Brady, and Sara Fraboni, and their families.
The family appreciates the love and support of those in our community and church, and especially the care provided by Hospice of Pamlico County.
Arrangements for Dora are through Bryant Funeral Home. Her celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at 11:00 at Pamlico United Methodist Church, 4288 Orchard Creek Road, Oriental, NC. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Pamlico United Methodist Church or Hospice of Pamlico County, 602 Main St., Bayboro, NC 28515.
