Willie Powers Shaw

Willie Powers Shaw, 72, of Grantsboro, passed away Monday, December 5, 2016, at CarolinaEast Medical Center.

She was a member and board member of Goose Creek Pentecostal Holiness Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Yates Shaw, Sr.; her son, Kenneth Lee Shaw; and siblings, Richard Powers, Rosland Powers Paul, Duval Odell Powers and Judy Powers Heath.

She is survived by two sons, Marty Shaw and wife, Krista, of Greensboro and John Shaw of Grantsboro; one daughter, Joy Shaw Lane and husband, David, of Palm Bay, Florida; daughter-in-law, Nancy Shaw; sister, Bobbi Powers Poole; brother, Theodore Powers, Jr.; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Her graveside service will be held 1 p.m., Friday, December 9th at Paul Cemetery, Silver Hill with the Rev. Cindy Midyette officiating.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Mrs. Willie’s home.

In lieu of flowers the family suggested memorial contributions be made to Goose Creek Pentecostal Holiness Church, Missions Funds, c/o Cindy Midyette, 8467 Hwy 306 S., Arapahoe, NC 28510.
