Robert Wesley Williams, Jr.

Robert Wesley Williams Jr., 96, of Merritt passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2016, at CarolinaEast Medical Center.

He loved his Lord and Savior and was a member of Trent Original Free Will Baptist Church. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Robert never met a stranger and was loved by all that knew him.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Williams, grandson, Jimmy Arthur, and sister, Mildred Carey.

He is survived by three daughters, Elizabeth Arthur (Johnnie), Nancy Simpson (Grady), and Linda Rawls (Phil); son, Wesley Williams;brothers, Curtis Williams, Jesse Williams, and Alton Williams (Carol) seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 29th at Trent Original Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Timothy Webber, Rev. Jay Winberry and Rev. Grady Simpson officiating. Interment will follow immediately in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends and relatives one hour prior to the service at the church.
