Velma Marie Henries

February 14, 1950 — January 3, 2017

Velma Leary. Henries, 66, of Grantsboro, passed away peacefully at her home January 3, 2017.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Roland and Mattie Leary and three brothers, Benny, Curtis and Bobby Leary.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Richard “Sammy” Henries; two sons, Richard Jr. and fiancée Tina, and Michael and wife, Stephanie; brothers, Roland Leary, Jr. and wife, Ila, and Arthur Leary and wife, Sharlene; three sister-in-laws, Rita Gray, Sheila Martin, Donna Cahoon and Sharon Leary; and many nieces and nephews.

She worked as an insurance agent for most of her career, retiring after 40+ years. She was always honest, hardworking and always seeing the positive in everything.

She lived her life by the book, serving the Lord and will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother and friend. Her sons are who they are today because of her.

She was a loyal member of New Vision PH Church, where she loved her church family very much.

Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, January 6th at New Vision PH Church in Hobucken with Pastor Ray Bonner officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
