Bobby Reid Matthews, Jr.

Bobby “Reid” Matthews, Jr., 63, of Trent Woods passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at home.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Matthews, Sr.

He was a lifetime member of Rhems United Methodist Church and was an avid sportsman. He worked with his father at Matthews Boats and was known for his great sense of humor. He loved his family and all his beloved dogs.

He is survived by his mother, Ann Simmons Matthews of New Bern; sons, Bobby R. Matthews III and G. Michael Matthews, both of New Bern; daughter, Melanie Matthews of New Bern; sisters, Kay M. Dentico of New Bern and Beth M. Jackson of Lumberton; and grandchild, Kameron Conlin of California.

The family will receive friends and family from 2 to 4 p.m., Saturday, February 11th at Rhems United Methodist Church.
