Wanda Harvill Williams, 76, of Grantsboro, entered her heavenly home on March 31, 2017, at Grantsbrook Nursing Home.
Wanda a longtime resident of Pamlico County, was born in Springfield, Missouri on June 18, 1940.
Wanda was an active member of the Church of God of Prophecy. She was a dedicated employee of Pamlico County School System. She enjoyed volunteering with Pamlico County Senior Services and Special Olympics.
She was a very devoted wife for 46 years to the late Horace L. Williams Sr. Also she was a loving mother, grandma and “old grandma” who will always be loved and missed greatly by many.
She is survived by four daughters, Jean Connor (Glen) of Kinston, Pam Collins (David) of Maysville, Anna Sawyer (Dewitt) and Angie Mitchell (Melvin), all of Reelsboro; one son, Horace “H.L.” Williams (Jamie) of Stonewall; one brother, Donald Harvill of Reelsboro; two sisters, Faye Hodges of Charlotte and Naomi Royal of Grantsboro; 17 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, Preston and Naomi Harvill and brothers, Bruce and Raymond Harvill.
Her graveside service will be held 2 p.m., Monday, April 3rd at Sandhill Cemetery with the Rev. Mike Roach officiating.
The family will receive friends and relatives Sunday evening from 4 to 6 p.m. at Bryant Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter, Angie Mitchell, 1910 Lee Landing Rd. New Bern, NC 28560.
