William Hay Whitehurst, Ii

William Hay Whitehurst II, 68, of Stonewall passed away Saturday, April 1, 2017, at CarolinaEast Medical Center.

A Vietnam Veteran, he retired from the U.S. Marine Corps after 22 years of service. Born in Georgia, he has been a resident of Stonewall for the past 25 years. He also retired from Moen. He is a member of Grantsboro Church of God.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Phyllis Whitehurst; son, Quentin Whitehurst and wife, Aileen; daughter, Quentana Whitehurst; sister, Teresa Whitehurst; and two grandchildren, Layla & Bethany.

His funeral will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, April 6th at Bryant Funeral Home with the Rev. Becky Harrell officiating. Interment will follow immediately in Oriental cemetery with military honors.

The family will receive friends and relatives one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
